Executive Team

Mr. Tyler Nguyen

Chairman and President

Tyler is a professional realtor with over 12 years of experience in the real estate industry and currently works for a firm in St. Louis, Missouri. He was selected as the Missouri Real Estate Association State Director in 2019. Tyler earned various professional expertise in computer information systems and networking.

The IHWB Board of Directors selected Tyler as the Chairman and President for the 2022- 2025 term. He oversees the entire organization’s performance in these capacities and fosters an inspirational working and collaboration atmosphere.

Influenced by his 27 years of struggling and growing up in Vietnam, Tyler developed a passion for helping the underprivileged worldwide and those affected by the consequences of war.

Since immigrating to the United States from Vietnam in 1991, he has served the Vietnamese American communities in many leadership roles and continues promoting humanitarian ideals. He is also an active contributor to the Catholic Congregation in St. Clair, Missouri, as an Event Director.

Tyler is married to his sweetheart, Elizabeth, a pharmacist, and they have two adult children. Dawson is a senior majoring in mechanical engineering, and Peyton is pursuing her pre-medical studies with a fully funded scholarship.

Mr. Duke Nguyen

Vice President for Operation

Duke has proudly served 31 years in law enforcement. He started his career as a Deputy Sheriff with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and currently serves as a Senior Detective with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

Duke was cordially invited to join IHWB in 2023 when his strong leadership and unyielding passion for serving others impressed the Board of Directors.

His various law enforcement assignments included patrol, fugitive task forces, major fraud investigations, special vice investigations, public integrity investigations, member of the Special Response Team, and Homicide – officer-involved shooting investigations. Duke is firmly committed to law and order and serving those who serve, and he eventually became a 2018 candidate for Sheriff for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Besides his hobbies of traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends, he works on promoting the next generation of Vietnamese Americans to be elected to political office. A vision of being able to unite Vietnamese Americans across the states, coming together to combat bigotry and discrimination and build a greater community for all, is near and dear to his heart.

Duke immigrated to the United States in 1981 as a political refugee and earned a bachelor’s degree from the California State University at Long Beach. He and his wife, Laura, and their two teenage children are proud Southern Californians.

Mr. Tony Duong

Vice President for Management

Tony is a combat veteran with 20 years of active duty in the U.S. Army and retired in 2017 as a Chief Warrant Officer. He is a Product Support Manager at the U.S. Army Acquisition Support Center in California.

He is a dedicated and result-oriented professional with a full range of expertise in logistics management. His various assignments included leading, directing, developing, and performing logistical support for warfighting units worldwide and being accountable for more than $59 billion of material and equipment.

Tony is a co-founder of IHWB who has advanced the organization’s mission with his impeccable leadership and strong management background. He is a “talk less, do more” executive and a “work hard, play hard” teammate.

Tony and his wife, Thanh, offer excellent hospitality and bring people together on countless occasions through the voice of karaoke and informal gatherings. After multiple military moves and family separations, they and their two teenage children settled in Orange County, California.

Tony immigrated to the United States in 1991 as a political refugee. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Finance and a Master’s in Healthcare Management from Columbia Southern University, Orange Beach, Alabama.
